What do people say
Some Positive
5) I get excellent reception here in the mountains of New Mexico for a super-portable am/fm/weatherband radio receiver with 20 presets (5 on am/10 on fm and 5 for weather) that lasts 30-54 hours on one AAA battery. Weatherband signals are weak by the nature of the short range, low power NOAA transmitters and you must turn up the volume to adequately hear them and then adjust it back down for most am/fm stations especially.
6) All presets are very intuitive and extremely easy to use (a one button press system) as well as very easy to set. They are also easy to change as needed, especially if you travel a lot. Also, as long as you change the battery within 3 minutes of removing it, no presets will be lost (fortunately changing the battery is a snap).
7) The SRF-M37W is as extremely durable and well made and should last a very long time.

Reception is pretty good – can pick up several stations quite clearly, and a few more with some static. Sound quality is decent. You won’t mistake it for CD-quality, but it’s radio, after all. Battery life is very good – goes a few months on an AAA. I just switched to rechargeable batteries, but even with regular alkalines it’s pretty cost effective.
The only downside I’ve encountered was the headphones. Found them to be very uncomfortable, and replaced them very soon after purchasing with a set of ear buds (not sure of the brand – perhaps Sony as well).

Some Negative
The reception is good both on the FM and AM spectrums. However, it is so susceptible to interference. The reception is crossed with other channel for a second from time to time when I was walking on the suburban streets. For FM I have to switch between local and DX options when I go outside or inside a building to get better reception. It also gets interfered by the cell phone signal.

We live in a big city and the reception still isn’t great – especially the FM, which gets sketchy with even minor movement. AM is okay but certainly not great. Sony has done much better in the past.
The M37 is powered by ONE tiny AAA battery and it does not take long to run it down – another shortcoming.
The radio should definitely have a backlight and time-off sleep feature since it already has a built-in clock.
