What do people say
Enter the Logitech Z-5 speaker set, which turns out to be a bargain at the Amazon Prime price. Setup, after finding a blank USB port, was a snap, with NO POWER CORDS or oversized or oddly shaped Power Supply devices taking up valuable space on the old power strip.
Dirt simple: Uncoil speaker USB cable (nice that they provide a nice little hook & loop cord wrap strap) and plug in. Connect second speaker to first one. Install software (necessary to select the type of music player you use – in my case Windows Media Player) so that the neat little remote can be used to control both the speaker sound and balance, but control the Media Player too!
Worked first time, right out of the box (the remote WILL NOT work without the software installed) and sound is great!

Keeping in mind that these are computer speakers and not home stereo towers, they do have a nice room filling feel to them, and SO much better than onboard speakers of a notebook.
You are not going to get a lot of bass response with small speakers,and the four 2 inch sound holes, but they also have built in acoustic chambers with 2 1/2 inch x 7/16 inch ports at the bottom of each tower that certainly do add to the overall sound.
Not going to go over all the specs as they are clearly seen in the Logitech info on Amazon page. Will only repeat that there are two 2 inch speaker holes in each tower that ouput on two of the four sides.
If you can’t tell from the photos, they are covered all around in thin cloth giving a nice touch and covering the plastic housing except for the bottom trim.
I realized after trying them out with the notebook, that since they are USB powered,and have an AUX input also, why not be able to use them stand alone with a USB power adapter and my iPod…. works a treat! Don’t even need the computer unless you want to use the supplied software and remote control.
