Pros

  1. The installation is rather simple.
  2. It is great to be able to scan to PDF without using the PC .
  3. Crisp clear printouts from everything.

  5. Has Duplex Printing and Automatic Document Feeder that work very well.
  6. The scan quality is very good.
  7. Has an embedded web server that allows full access to all the printer configuration and diagnostics from any web browser.
  8. The wireless connection strength is excellent.

Cons

  1. HP Officejet Pro 8500 doesn’t print recipe cards.
  2. Ink cartridges seem a bit pricey.
  3. No paper manual. It’s a complicated product, so you really need a manual.
  4. Can’t easily print envelopes.
  5. Scanning/printing time is slow.
  6. Be sure to click on the option that allows you to select which software is going to be installed, otherwise you will get several “extra” items like the “Yahoo” tool bar on your browser.
  7. Noisy and Vibrations – This printer does make a good bit of noise and shakes quite a bit when printing.
  8. You cannot chose whether to scan black/white or color from the front panel on the printer
  9. The software for both Mac and Windows is pretty heavy and confusing.
