What do people say
Users Opinion on Cyber Acoustics AC-201:
Summary
-
Cyber Acoustics AC-201 is a good headset for the price. It is very flexible and adjustable, so you don’t have to worry about your head size. It produces nice quality sound, this goes for both mic and headphones. It’s comfortable, but you may feel slight pressure, after wearing it for a long time. Customers suggest adjusting the headband, if you do.

Some Positive
Both headsets worked great right out of the box. The sound output quality is fine, both for the voice chat and the Warcraft game sounds and music. Our teammates reported that the microphone sound quality was fine as well.
The headset earpieces are small, but include some cushioning. (They definitely fit “on” the ear, not “around” the ear.) I had some ear discomfort after wearing the headset for over an hour, but it was very slight — definitely mild enough not to be a distraction. Adjusting the earpieces forward a bit on my head (so they didn’t rest directly on my ears as much) helped.

The microphone is loud and crisp, anyone can hear me on the other line without hesitation. Same with listening to others, it no longer sounds like you are talking on the phone, but as if the person on the other line is right there next to you.
The cushioning is soft and fits snuggly on top of my ear, no discomfort whatsoever. However, it is a little tight, something that really can’t be adjusted. If you have a bigger head than mine, not to worry, it’s completely adjustable.

Some Negative
This headset was very cheap, but worth it. The mic is very clear and has less background noise than most. The headphones are quite powerful and better quality than my cheap-o speakers.
The only problem that really sets this headset back is the headphone size – they’re smaller than my ears, so if you use them for a long period of time your ears will HURT.

However, It seems with most/all new Mac hardware the good ole reliable ‘Mic Port” has gone the way of the floppy drive… It’s been replaced with an __arguably_more_powerful__ (for audio buffs especially) “Line In Port”.
So what’s the difference between “Mic Port” and “Line-In Port”… Mic Port could accept an unpowered cheap mic for input (the kind of Mic used in these headphones) and the “Line-In Port” requires a powered Mic (or other powered audio source).
