- The software keeps track of ink levels and starts nagging you a while before each cartridge runs completely out.

Cons:
- It’s a big and heavy machine.
- Text output is a bit slow and not perfect.
- Documentation for color management is a bit lacking.
- Front paper feed setup is slow.
- There is no draft print option.
- Can’t do banner printing.
- Included CD is not as intuitive as it could be.
- Pixma Pro9000 does not have in internal paper cartridge, so allow for a wide stand and plenty of room for the front and back paper trays.
- No USB cable included.
- Lack of support for 11×14″ paper( You have to print an 11×14 print on 13×19 paper or “fake it” by telling your printing application you’re really printing on 11×17″ paper, then crop down the picture some.)
- Pixma Pro9000 does not support printing longer than 19″.
- Limited warranty suggests that if you have a damaged machine you will be advised with two options: 1) take it to authorized repair center or 2) get a refurbished replacement.
- Uses a lot of ink in cleaning the print head.
