User reviews:

Pros:
- Very easy to set up.
- Photos ( when printed on canon’s glossy photo paper) look great, and are near or as good as photo lab quality.
- Documents printed out come out very sharp.
- The automatic feed feature for multiple pages during scanning/faxing works great.
- A big plus is that it’s intuitive and a person can accomplish most things looking at the color LCD and pushing adjacent buttons on the front panel. It also has intuitive support software.
- The ink cartridges are pretty reasonably priced.
- Good price.
- Refill cartridges are available in 2 sizes.
- Scanning documents straight to PDF is a great feature.
Cons:
- Pretty large.
- It is kinda bulky and heavy.
- Doesn’t include a USB2 cable.
- The user manual is online and difficult to navigate.
Other User Insights:
- Power Drill( Can be found for $20-$30 at Home Depot)
- A thin drill bit ( The smallest one available also at Home Depot)
- Black ink refill Kit (You can obtain one on eBay for $5-$10 depending on whether you buy in sets like I do. The kit will include an instruction manual, a syringe, and a small bottle of ink).

Instructions:
Create a tiny hole at the upper portion of the cartridge underneath the sticker where a small imprint is located. After making that hole, use a syringe and fill it with ink. Push the syringe needle through the hole you’ve created until you feel the needle pushing through sponge inside the cartridge. Squeeze the ink in gently.
The only downside to this approach is that I have to go disable to printer monitor so that Canon’s manual page counter can’t force me to replace my cartridge. To do this, follow these steps:
Go to
1. Canon Utilities
2. My Printer (folder)
3. My Printer (application)
4. Printer Status
5. Option (top left)
6. Uncheck “Enable Status Monitor”
- ” Color ink may be consumed even when printing a black-and-white document or when black-and-white printing is specified.”
Expert verdict:
- Canon’s Pixma MX330 color inkjet multifunction printer offers students and home-office users basic functionality for a low initial price. If you print a lot, however, look elsewhere, because this unit’s inks can be expensive. Read a full review on PCWorld.
- The MX330 is a solid choice for those consumers looking for a home office printer around $100. It’s a 4-in-1 device that does everything decent, if not good, and it is visually appealing. Read a full review on PrinterComparison.
- A multifunction printer for $100 (list price $110, but with a ten-spot discount almost everywhere we looked). Canon‘s cost-cutters planned accordingly for the Pixma MX330, outfitting it with low-end inkjets’ traditional two-cartridge (black and tricolor) instead of four-ink-tank (black, cyan, magenta, and yellow) or higher technology. Card slots for reading images from digital cameras’ flash-memory cards went out the window. So did a duplexer – no automatic double-sided printing at this price. Connectivity took a cut with just a USB 2.0 port, no Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Read a full review on HardwareCentral.
